Tyre Inflator FAQ
What is digital tyre inflator?
Tyre inflator helps you in refilling the air pressure when there are no mechanics nearby.
Can I use tyre inflator as compressor?
Technically, yes, a portable 12V tyre inflator is an air compressor. However, it doesn’t have a tank to store compressed air, nor does it have the ability to power pneumatic tools.
Is it bad to drive a car with a flat tyre?
Driving on a flat tyre can cause internal structural damage to the tyre, this may lead to wheel and vehicle damage and may result in poor vehicle handling and control — which could lead to an accident, injury or death.
Can over inflating tyres damage them?
Over inflating tyres causes the sidewalls and tread of the tyre to become harder than normal. This can reduce the traction and performance of the tyre, as well as cause uneven tyre wear. When the pressure is increased beyond the recommended pressure, the contact patch of the tyre actually shrinks.
Why should my tyres be inflated correctly?
- Tyre life – under or over inflation increases wear
- Fuel economy – under inflation increases fuel consumption
- Safety – under or over inflation will affect grip and braking performance
- Ride – over inflation can result in a harsh, uncomfortable and skittish ride
What risks does incorrectly inflated tyres cause?
- Increased fuel consumption
- Impaired handling
- Increased braking distances
- Greater risk of blow-outs
- Reduced tyre life
Where can I find a wall mounted tyre inflator?
Integrated Marketing offers you the HWP600 digital wall mounted tyre inflator.
What is the difference between a tyre inflator and a traditional air compressor?
While both inflate tyres:
- Tyre inflators (especially portable or wall-mounted units) are compact, designed specifically for tyre inflation, and often include a built-in pressure gauge or digital display.
- Air compressors are larger, multi-purpose machines that can inflate tyres, power pneumatic tools, and operate spray equipment.
Tyre inflators are ideal for quick top-ups and roadside assistance, while compressors are better for workshop environments with multiple uses.
